Just wanted to say thank you for an incredibly useful day. It was really good to know that I’m on the right track and, more importantly, I have a clear picture of what to do next and how to move things forward, I shall keep my eye out for the next one!
After getting so far on my own, it was incredibly valuable to have people from all sides of the process in the room and to be able to quiz them. An amazing forum for anyone looking for ways to move their show forward.
This day-long course was exactly what I needed to equip myself for self-producing and self-promoting my solo show. The day was full of content. Paulus gave really practical, relevant and honest advice, with useful handouts and plenty of entertaining anecdotes. Sarah-Louise Young was a brilliant addition, elaborating on some of Paulus' themes from her own extensive theatrical experience. From approaching venues (including a guest venue rep to quiz!) to putting together press-packs, this has given me a really good toolkit. I feel equipped and encouraged to get my show on the road!
GYSOTR is a fabulous one day course. Lots of great insider information, tips, guidance and advice to help boost your career as a producer and/or performer. I like the way the emphasis was on the business and practical side of things plus it was all delivered in a very friendly and entertaining manner. I recommend GYSOTR!
It was fantastic to have an opportunity to discuss issues with touring a show. I have often found touring a solo show a lonely experience as one has to learn as you go , sometimes making time -wasting and costly rookie errors. This workshop is invaluable for answering questions and developing a support system.
GYSOTR was an incredible experience led by Paulus, with special speakers and invaluable insights. What I particularly appreciated was that it was so thorough - my head was reeling in the best way possible with all the information we received. It was also wonderful to hear about other people’s projects and to be building community in what can often feel like a solitary path as an artist. Thank you Paulus for creating such a high-value course - I couldn't believe how much I learned in just one day!
Such a welcoming, inspiring, info-packed day.
Priceless, practical insights into touring from industry pros who've been there, done that, bought the T-shirt (and sold the tea towel)! Plus a lovely bonus to meet fellow theatre-makers looking to tour more. Highly recommended!
I was actually shocked by the impact this day had on me. It was filled with a kind of reality-checking, sobering energy combined with genuine fellowship and compassion. I'm not entirely sure where I'll go with my performances now but my entire worldview has shifted towards something so much more honest. Valuable insights and practical, useful information were shared by Paulus with brilliant clarity, humour and unerring entertainment value. It was wonderful to hear from the other speakers as well as so many of the other participants. I'm very grateful.
I came away from this workshop absolutely buzzing - there aren’t enough stars in the solar system to rate it! The day was so well put together and Paulus shared so much insight, I could visualise what being on the road would actually be like and got a tangible sense of what’s involved in touring. I walked away with a physical toolkit that the day itself made me feel confident I’ll actually be able to use. Not to mention the guest speakers and other participants - I learned SO much from everyone else in the room too. Loved every second of it and can’t recommend it highly enough!
Paulus' GYSOTR workshop is amaxxing. Full of advice gardnered from his comprehensive first-hand experience. It's encouraging and informative and energising. The Whole Event was so welcoming and down to earth and you come away having met wonderful people and extending your network as well. Recommend Highly - a 5 star event! Thank you Paulus for creating this instructive, down to earth workshop.
It was invaluable to come away with information packs that can to referred to, with lots of practical advice and ideas.
I loved networking with the other creatives, it was smashing to see so many friendly faces, hear their experiences, ideas and hopes.
Paulus’s anecdotes from life on the road were both hilarious and sobering, I learnt loads and had the most exciting and edifying day!
